French Open Ladies Singles Last Ten Winners

Here's a table showing the last ten French Open Ladies winners including the beaten finalist and set score:

YearChampion (WR)Runner Up (WR)Set Score
2024Iga Swiatek (1)Jasmine Paolini (15)2-0
2023Iga Swiatek (1)Karolina Muchova (43)2-1
2022Iga Swiatek (1)Coco Gauff (23)2-0
2021Barbora Krejcikova (33)A. Pavlyuchenkova (32)2-1
2020Iga Swiatek (54)Sofia Kenin (6)2-0
2019Ashleigh Barty (8)Marketa Vondrousova (38)2-0
2018Simona Halep (1)Sloane Stephens (10)2-1
2017Jelena Ostapenko (47)Simona Halep (4)2-1
2016Garbine Muguruza (4)Serena Williams (1)2-0
2015Serena Williams (1)Lucie Safarova (13)2-1

Iga Swiatek secured her fourth French Open title victory in 2024, she became the first player in 2023 to retain the French Open Women's Singles title since Justine Henin in 2007.

Interesting to note the better ranked player of the two finalists has won only six of the last ten finals, we have seen Jelena Ostapenko win in 2017 ranked just inside the top 50, Marketa Vondrousova make the final in 2019 when ranked just inside the top 40 and 2020 saw world number 54 Iga Swiatek (now a four time French Open winner) stun the tennis world with a straight sets win over Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin. The 2021 final saw Barbora Krejcikova ranked 33 defeat Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova ranked 32.

  • Predicting the finalists has been a little tricky with just two of the last ten finals contested by two players in the current top ten in the world.
